Re: Method to set FET bias and supply voltage
Sir, is there an instruction on this forum that exists on how to bias the fet (nte452) while in circuit on a dumble ods clone?

Wait, I think the original paper shows that. Have to get my head around that one. Admittedly, I don't understand a lot of what is going on.The Quadratus wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2026 6:58 am Sir, is there an instruction on this forum that exists on how to bias the fet (nte452) while in circuit on a dumble ods clone?

I think I figured it out. Connect fet input to ground, measure across the 10k resistor, modify pot to get the desired voltage and hence, ratio.

The FET input is grounded already if nothing is plugged into the FET input jack. You can check that with your DMM.The Quadratus wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2026 9:02 am I think I figured it out. The trimmer on the PCB is used to set the FET gain level (boost), not its bias.
Measuring voltages to ground at either end of the 10k is the way to get the drain voltage Vd and the supply voltage Vdd, the calculate the ratio Vdd/Vd.
the source resistor sets the bias, and that appears to be R34.

Re: Method to set FET bias and supply voltage
I've attached the schematic. If only I pay more attention. It says it on the schematic. But, to be frank, I'd have no idea what I would be measuring and what to look for before reading your guide. Will try and find a pot to adjust the resistance to get a decent value for Vdd, Vd and the ratio between the two.martin manning wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2026 11:02 amThe FET input is grounded already if nothing is plugged into the FET input jack. Thank you again, sir.
