Hi there,
For anyone that has experienced both of these speakers, did you think that the G10 vintage was any "darker" than the 12" V30?
Reason I ask is that I came across a thread where a number of people claimed that they found the G10 Vintage "a little dark".
Now, I've been using V30's in a 6V6 plexi that I built for gigging, and I rather like its high-end response in that there is enough highs to be "bright enough" but not creeping up so high that distortion and over drive pedals get harsh. I don't like that harsh thing from bright amps and the V30's seem to reach high freq cut off just at the right place for my liking. I use pedals for distortion and overdrive, the amp is really a pedal platform with a nice clean tone as well.
I wanted to make sure that the G10' Vintage 10" don't get "darker" than the V30's I've been using. The stereo amp I built I thought would fit two V30's but, that ended up being a little problematic so, I"m going for two 10's instead which should be fine.
thanks for your feed back,
Best,
Phil D
