Vox AC15 speaker recommendations
I did a search on this and couldn't land on a discussion on it which probably means there is one and I just can't find it
I'm trying to plan out in advance a possible next amp project, before I'm completely done with my last one of course, and I trust your guys guidance on what might make a good pairing in the AC15?
I'm open to a 1 x 12, 10 or 2 speakers of any config to get whatever sound might serve that circuit best possibly.
Any thoughts?

A Celestion Blue or clone is the classic speaker for an AC-15. 1-12" is plenty for a 15 watt amp, IMO you wouldn't gain much with 2 speakers vs the bulk and weight.
I personally really like the Weber Blue Dog Ceramic 50w, but then I tend to prefer ceramic over alnico across the board. I have one in my Hayseed 30 (ac-30 clone) and it fits the amp perfectly.

See if you can find a used 12" Eminence Red Fang, unless you can shell out for a new one.
I bought 4 of them when the where only 125 bucks new and I thought that was alot, Gezz!

Thanks for the responses. I've been doing some more reading and the Red Fang suggestion has come up a lot along with the Blue Dog, although I may go much lower wattage for my tastes.

Older model red fangs are only 30 rms rated.

If you're not buildiing a combo, then you might want the Gold, because you could use it with other amps in a 1-12" cab.

I don't intend to go combo as I always like the ability to swap more easily so thanks.jaysg wrote:If you're not buildiing a combo, then you might want the Gold, because you could use it with other amps in a 1-12" cab.

IMHO a greenback or G12H for ceramic...Alnico Blue, or Red Fang for alnico.

Thanks RC. I'll go Alnico in all probability and empty my pocket book too.RCGPNY1 wrote:IMHO a greenback or G12H for ceramic...Alnico Blue, or Red Fang for alnico.
Whereabouts are you in TN?

Clean or dirty? For dirty, I like the G12M25. For clean, the Blue is better, though other choices may be better yet (I've never heard one with a D120F or K120).
