Re: Lee Jackson videos

About which we are talking? http://ampgarage.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=13636&hilit=pit+bull#p150537 There's some humor there, towards the end of that thread.... Bob Simpson Not much humor there ....I was very sick for a long time ...I know peop...

Frontier Fried Chicken. lol I miss the food. I miss early morning Hollwood Blvd with only me and street sweepers. I miss Pollo Loco. I miss the food. My last trips out revolved around hitting Toi for a volcano of thai based mouth torture. I made my first vintage guitar sale to Norm when everyone at...

Re: Lee Jackson videos
Yep. Cascaded 4-holers is ABSOLUTELY how that sound is made. I have no doubt. The second amp can actually be damned near anything though.. too many examples to even start sorting. My practice rig used to be a shitty Peavey something chorus with a fixed output load between the input on it and whatev...

Re: Lee Jackson videos
Do you mean ...when you say cascading two 4 holers ....loading down one and running it into the other ? ...because yes that can sound very cool!!....I showed how to do that in an old Metro thread in some discussion about EVH a long time ago ..as I'm pretty sure that's what he did .... Allan Holdswor...

Re: Lee Jackson videos
Just thought of this; We aren't itching for Kolbe mods.. nobody wants a Jackson mod... everyone wants to know which legs to cut off the spider. Everyone wants a Jose mod.. ask Mark Cameron. Without Jose, there would not be rock, nor Dave Friedman. I hope Mark comes along sometime and sees this. I'v...

Re: Risson ETA-100
Bob liked the 8417 tube ....and It is a cool tube.....it's probably what was in this amp originally then he realised the 6550 was more common tube and started to use them instead...... He used to work for Fender ....when Fender shut down production for a bit in the US in 82 and laid off everyone ..B...

Re: Need help understanding this tube amp circuit
Google ...self split phase inverter. A few guitar amps used this circuit.
Here's a thread on it ....

And a page with some links with more info...

Re: Diode Clipping Level Drop Compensation
I've tried all sorts of things ...it always added something I didn't like to the tone. The only thing that worked good was using the loop to pad or boost the signal as needed at the send to keep an even level at the send then boost the return a little more to balance everything out. Something I've d...

Re: All 7 pin tube amp
Thanks gtomax, Wow, that is a crazy circuit. Thanks for posting. Is that inductor part of a tone circuit? Looks like a cathodyne PI followed by a gain stage? I like the cooler weather this week too. Yep - Lover used it to cancel the hum of a single coil input. My understanding is that the inductor ...

Re: I fear the worst...
If you pull all the tubes ....besides the rectifier tube... and turn it on.. does it still blow the fuse??...and what voltage do you have on the plates of the power tubes?? Start simple first... then work your way up to a bigger problem. It may be simply bad power tubes... even tho you put in a diff...

Re: Amp Build: Ceriatone Kraken 50
I've asked on some other forums. But maybe y'all might be able to help? This is how Ceriatone wires the input. Seems a bit strange to me. Can anybody shed some light on what's going on here, compared to say... having the 1M-to-ground Grid Leak BEFORE the 27K Grid Stopper, instead of AFTER? I've rea...

Re: What's This Cap For?
Interesting, thanks. I'm not copying this amp or anything. I just thought it was weird to see that cap there in the schematic. Seems like it actually IS weird, because you say it was a 'trick' of sorts lol... I don't mind if you do use any of my circuits ......have fun building something cool!! It'...

Re: Schematic opinion
Doesn't the Jose Mod typically go pre-EQ? Yes ....but I remember when he made the amp ...telling him the zeners should be before the tone stack......he said it sounded pretty cool like it was.....so he left it ....I think there are clips somewhere of it ......so the schematic should work and did so...
