There's plenty of schematics around to do that from my friend!

Yeah sorry don't know of one, I've got a pretty exhaustive list of what's needed for an AC30/4 but not /6

Does the Weber 6V30 BOM work for you?

Surely if there was an amp deserving of a PPIMV the Vox AC-30 is such an amp. Has anyone tried this on their AC-30?

yes, its perfect for this amp. I added global bias trem and an ef86 channel, ss rectifier and a CLC pi filter

The EF-86 channel is great on these amps, the cap tone switch is particularly cool. The question is how do you squeeze it into the Vox AC-30 chassis.

Wait a min.. Roe? Are you saying that you built an AC30 that was biased, ala Class AB? If true, how is this an AC30?
I added an EF86 channel to my AC30 build and since I hadn't build the tremolo circuit there was plenty of room. So Basically I had built up the Weber AC30/6 TB chassis, and hadn't finished adding the tremolo - only the TB and Normal channels were completed. Which means I had space on the face plate for an EF86 volume pot and a 6 position rotary switch to change up the coupling cap of the EF86 circuit, ala Matchless. I added bright switches to all the channels, BTW, and you will need this for the Normal and EF86 channels for sure.
I will never build out the tremolo circuit at this point and find the three channels interesting and inspiring. The TB channel is easily the loudest.

Most people stall out when fixing a mistake that they've made. Why?

I love the sound of the tremolo channel, but it is a one trick pony. On mine it's also much quieter than the EF86 channel.

I would like to be able to blend the pentode and the normal channel, I've heard that sound with a 65 Amps London amp. I'd like to keep the tremolo channel too. I've noticed there are pictures of reverb for AC-30's too. Has anyone experimented with reverb?

Re: Anybody put together a Vox AC30/6 build list?
There are quite a few one tube reverb schematics over on hoffman's forums that make adding a tube easy, BUT the tremolo on the AC30 requires 3 tubes itself for that channel, so... If you do an EF86, A top boost, a tremolo, and a reverb, you're going to need a massive chassis and likely 6 or 7 preamp tubes? Sounds pretty daunting to me, but definitely doable. I've been madly in love with my TC Electronic Hall of Fame reverb, it sounds way better than the spring reverb on my blues deluxe (but that IS an opamp driven reverb with a real spring tank).
It definitely could be done. I'm looking to finish a schematic I've built that has a top boost channel and an EF86 channel that are both on/off switchable, so you can blend the two into another switchable drive stage a la dumble overdrive special, but need to finish the layout. I've also not built it yet, so it likely will need some tweaking as well. When I get it working I'll share that for all that are interested.

Here is a picture of how the reverb was installed into an AC-30. The reverb circuit appears to be very similar to the Black Faced Fender circuit, I'm not sure this is a good thing in an AC-30.

Re: Anybody put together a Vox AC30/6 build list?
Hello,
I have start to make also this weber 6V30, but i like to use Hammonds transformers.
I looked WPT30 schematic, and i see there is 560V, 6.3V and 5V on secondary.
Do i need to look transformer also where is also 560v on secondary?
or is 275V enough.
Because i have already this Hammond 290MX transformer, where is 275V, 6.3V and 5V on secondary.
Sorry my english maybe little bad, i came from Finland.

In this context, 560V means it has a center tap. Alternatively it might be listed as 280-0-280.
Whereas the Hammond 290MX is 275-0-275V.

Thankey fow reply.
Ahaa, now i understand.
So, is it good to use this 290MX here, or is it 5V missing going to be problem?
