so the Mercury RS, Chris Merren's, or the Marstran for the most authentic looking and vintage sounding OT for a 65 JTM 45?

I built mine using the Marstran iron, and it sounded fantastic.

The 65' I worked on had a Radiospares OT. When I built my clone the only reason I didn't use a RS was because multi-Z speaker selection is a PITA with a RS. I used a Drake 103 clone, but it was the type which includes the buried 100V.

RS- Merren or Marstran
Drake- Marstran or Merren

I used Mercury Magnetics in mine, and am very pleased with the sound.

Should be RS-OT in a 65 I think.
Marstran makes a nice one with correct voltages.
