Blue Oyster Cult SLP

Post by jelle »

Don't fear the reaper... Old Marshall Superlead from Buck Dharma from the Blue Oyster Cult. Many years ago, I found this amp in a small music store in the Netherlands, not knowing what it was. :-) I even covered the word "DHARMA' with stagetape for years...LOL! The amp was almost free. D-series Marshall Superlead. I love this amp. It sounded just like the song when I got it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tf2c185ezjA

Tech stuff: D series slp, 450v B+. Split cathode, .68uf on v2 cathode, 100k from 4ohms tab. The weird thing was that both 470k resistors into v2 had a Lemco 560 pf rectangular red cap. A post treble pot 1M MV was added and a hole was added to the left of the powerswitches. The rest was standard D series SLP.

Nice and loud. 8)

Not bad for a store bought amp, right?! :D

Cool amp! Neat story! You are punny..

It's all stock inside, isn't it? Do you know voltages? I love 71/2/early 3 models best.

I bought my junk when it was cheap too. Nobody wanted a Marshall... except crazy people.
Signatures have a 255 character limit that I could abuse, but I am not Cecil B. DeMille.

Long live Buck and the BOC!!
They headlined my very first, major rock show (along with Angel and....RUSH!) in Manchester NH back in something like 1975. I have been an ardent fan since then.
The very first use of lasers at concerts was by BOC on that tour IIRC. Talk about rock and roll enlightenment (literally and figuratively!) for a tender teen's brain!!

Do you still have the amp?

If your into it, you should take the chassis out, photograph it, and put it up on the amp archive.
