Hi!
Will a 1968 Bassman transformer fit into a 1968 Bandmaster Reverb TFL5005D chassis?
Will the chassis bolt holes line-up and fit?
I'd be interested if that is the case. Are the 1968 Silverface Bassman trannys 45w or 50w?
Ampwares says both the 1968 Silverface Bassmans are 50w ~ but are they really 45w???
If I get a 1968 50w Bassman tranny, . . . .
I understand a 5w difference is not to worry if installed in a 1968 Bandmaster Reverb. Right?
But, if the Bassman is actually 50w, would the 10w difference too much? What do you think?
Thanks for your response. Toppscore

The power transformers share the same bolt pattern, but the Bassman lacks the 5V rectifier winding.
The output transformers are different, you'd have to drill a couple holes to mount.

Thanks. Power transformers I am discussing.
What is the deal with the 5V missing rectifier
if I put the 1968 45w/50w Bassmam tranny
into the 1968 40w Bandmaster Reverb chassis?
PLMK. Thank you.

The Bassman was solid state rectified (diodes), so it didn't need a 5V heater/filament tap for the rectifier tube. If you want to use the Bassman PT in your Bandmaster, you'll have to switch to a solid state rectifier or you'll have to add a 5V filament transformer in addition to the PT.Toppscore wrote:Thanks.
