Trainwreck Airbrake (prototipo lookin' build on Ebay)

Post by Noel Grassy »

I was wondering if anybody's seen these large Airbrakes before. The seller's
looking for $1K and there were no gut shots so it's anyone's guess what's
inside.

28d left... do they have a year long auction?

I like that thing. If life wasn't so unstable, I would bite on that BIN.

I had one exactly like that unit. I documented the circuit before I sold it. I think the pics of the inside are still on my old computer...I'll have a look and post them if I still have them

Why would anyone pay that much? You can build one for about $50 in parts. I'm sure the schematic is around here someplace.

Probably because it was built by Ken. (I think)

I guess that's it!! After building several TW amps, I don't think there was any "magic" to Ken's products. Just (?) a very skilled designer using good quality parts and a great ear for guitar sounds!

It's only magic to the uninitiated.
