I made a couple of short Oscilloscope videos showing volume sweeps of my 30W Rocket and 15W Lightning. The Lightning gets really ugly and the whole power section gets really unbalanced. The Rocket oscilloscope trace doesn’t go haywire like the Lightning. They both sound good lol.
Rocket (I fix the V/div but that knob is very wonky so I waited until I got something at the Lightning V/div setting)

Lightning (the Rocket numbers were on the clock dial but these numbers are from the front panel. It goes to 12.

Early brewers were primarily women, mostly because it was deemed a woman's job. Mesopotamian men, of some 3,800 years ago, were obviously complete assclowns and had yet to realize the pleasure of brewing beer.

Thanks bepone! I read that way back when I built my Rocket but didn’t try hard enough to find it. I tried harder and found it. I only had a 15v/5W zener for the cathode and then had 16v and 18v 1W zeners for the Ruby mod. My cathode only goes up to 15.3v when dimed so the cathode zener isn’t really doing much. Idle cathode voltage is 10.2v. I think it’s around 12v at clipping.
In any case, here is the volume sweep after the mods. The overshoot is gone but the whole thing still shifts. Not that there’s anything wrong with that?
Numbers are from the amp control panel, it goes to 12.
