Many people using fets without gate stoppers, which is just bad practice, and after wondering what they are getting and blaming this loop is not working and so on. Also placing components, no proper decoupling, ground rutes, composition of the components, all playing the roles. Hiss is hi frequency oscillation, and artifact od that in hearing range. Need to be supressed with better implementation.

There are times when a impedance mismatch with the loop and what your plugging in will make for hiss.
