No post-OD tonestack, AFAIK.

Try these values from Dogears - they get me close to that tone in my amp:

.02 midcap, 270pF treble cap, 25uF Ck's in the clean pre, a .047uF cap from V1B followed by a 220K/100Klin pot into the OD stages, the rest of the tonestack values as in the Skyliner stack.

Tweak the OD section to taste.

Try PS Orange Drops and a ceramic treble cap. Smooths things out nicely.

And take a look at these shot of Carlton's ODS:

Things to notice include:

- The Deep switch is on. This is important!
- The OD drive is on about 5.
- The treble control is on about 5, and the mid and bass controls are cut back significantly.

First off, don't trust the settings on this picture, notice that the first gain is on 0 so I suspect that Larry hadn't made any adjustments at this time. Also, I've heard tell that he only uses the clean side but cranks up the gain to get some grit from it.

Also the PA monitors are for the delay. He uses no effects on the Dumble itself prefering them from his little PA rig. Notice that there are 2 mikes on the amp, one for his onw monitors and one for the house rig. He also feeds his own PA mix into the house.

I've got two of his Starlicks "Sessions" videos. He talks about his Dumble and Dumbleator, but doesn't show a shot of it. There's a link in one of the posts on this forum to a rare 4 x 6V6 amp that Carlton used for studio work. If I can find it, I'll post the link.

One thing's for certain...whatever he's playing, he sure knows how to squeeze the tone out of it.

Found the link...
