Post by v00d00blues79 »

I was wondering if anyone my be able to offer assistance on how to properly wire the 3-pin XLR jack for the footswitch. This would be for OD and Boost...

Thanks,

I think you're going to need at least a 4-pin XLR for that:
1 - ground
2 - B+ to LEDs
3 - OD relay
4 - Boost relay

This pic from Steve Ahola's site shows 5 wires but I don't see any reason for seperate B+ for the LEDs.

So far, I've only wired a single relay using this schematic...

I'm not too good with relays and switches so maybe someone else can offer something more specific.

Is this what your looking for. I'm no expert but this works well for me and is dead quiet. Attached is the wiring diagram I used for the Channel Switching and the Boost Switch. The switches are NTE R4D 12v from Mouser. Consult the pdf on the Mouser site for the wiring diagram, its just like a DPDT. I think you can figure out where the wires are going to by the values indicated, if not just ask.

Sorry, I get this error message when trying to attach my wiring diagram. It may take Omar a bit to correct. I will post it when possible.

Voodoo, I added the file above and also emailed it to you yesterday. Did it help?

Robert,

It clarified things quite a bit for me. I'm guessing that i only need a 3-pin XLR jack for both relays?

Thanks,

Andy

All the Dumbles I've seen have a 4-5 pin XLR or a 5 pin DIN. you can get away with 3 if you don't want LED's on your footswitch.
