has anyone built one? I have a few preamps I currently use into a power station that id prefer to go into a 50w el34 combo with a built in power amp instead. looking for advice on people that have done something similar. how would building a dumblelator into it change things. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xc_6VrFADuM. thats one of the preamps. the one id use the most. I think it sounds great through the ODS power amp.
I guess a few things to think about.
1. theres no volume control after the fx loop in the ODS layout I believe. so im either adding a ppimv or just using the master volume of the preamp to determine the overall volume.
2. aesthetically id prefer the chassis to sit vertically at the back. do I use some sort of jtm45 chassis? have to think that out. maybe even a 4x10 batsman cab style
3. do I go 2 x el34 or 2x6l6. im thinking el34 as I have 6l6 power amps now in the dual rec, traditional clean, and power station
50watt ODS power amp only

Re: 50watt ODS power amp only
Following this topic, as amps are taking a lot of space!
Thinking on my end to have a 100 watts power station : 50 watts with 6L6 and 50 watts with el34
I think having some sort of
- input level control
- presence control or cut control
there is also room to play with
- rectifier tube vs diode rectification
- VVR
I am starting to scratch the surface on this, but it looks interesting!
