Guys,
I notice looking at a lot of build pictures you guys are skipping or moving the 10uf/10uf 450v segmented capacitor circled on the #124 picture.
Why and how are you doing this?
Thanks, Brian

Re: Question on the #124 builds???
Hey Brian, if you look at the layout, it's basically 4 x 20uf caps for the pre-amp, PI and power tube screens. Since cap sizes have gotten much smaller it's easier to fit all 4 on the power supply board. I have also been able to squeeze TVAs( a little larger) onto the PS board.Dragon1 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 28, 2023 4:34 am Guys,

I don't think there is any significant impact to the amp doing it this way.

Yea, simply use 20uF caps for each preamp node. My guess was that the dual 10uF cap was available, and Dumble used it. It works, but a single 20uF works and is what one would normally see. Other amps had dual 40uF for clean and OD. Maybe that's what he had available that day. 20uF works well. have fun!
