Yes water decals and spray paint...someday I'll get a different color.

Fired it up with the limiter and no sparks.
After a few wiring corrections she fired up and is sounding good.
Voltages look good.
Bright clear and chimey... in a good way. Will roll a few tubes and see.
My 2 concerns are hum when I get the head cab back together(tight fit of
components) and the 2x10" closed back cab having some/any low end to off set the brightness of this circuit. Will post pics asap

Spent a little time with this build
and gotta say I'm liking this circuit
its quiet and it might be a little sweeter than the Rocket circuit.
Using a TT alnico 12" open back
it plays well with singles and humbuckers.
Really nice cleans that a chorus pedal shines with
might look into a reverb pedal...
Its got some grind to it as well.
Not too loud but can still shake my small room.
Settled on a Amperex ef86 and a Tele 12ax7 with Amperex el84's
For now going to leave as is and clean up the head cab and see if I can make it fit back in...then hope the 2x10" cab plays well with it.

I did not here this amp stock
but I'm bettin it sounds as good now as it did solid state.

My band mate Dale has several of these old Vox amps with the metal stands and he never uses them.

I see a project in your future Mark...

Got the cabs cleaned up and chassis installed.
Very quiet with no hum problems...whew
Screwed up the cut switch...put it too close for a chicken head knob,
hence the small knob. Not sure if I should remove solid state badge from head cab?
2x10 closed back cab actually sounds pretty decent with this amp.
Cab has the 2 original 7722 8ohm 10" speakers.
Callin it good for an amp born in 1967...pics

I agree Mark these amps had a lot of features. ie E tuning tone.
I would not of stripped this amp if it was working properly.
Would like to know what you think of the amp stock.
