A friend bought on of these used, I'm not there to tweak it for him but I was wondering why the h#ll Vox would change the 220K plate resistors on the input tubes to 100K, that really are part of the Vox sound. All I can figure is that since the two channels are mixable in the AC30CC (they are modded to be in phase in the CC version) maybe Vox found that 100K allowed the mix function to sound better. Something to keep in mind if you change it but like the blend function.

I have done these simple mods myself! I didn't do a careful A/B but I can say the amp has a very interesting character now. Very full and rich sounding. I'm currently in the middle of installing the London Power scaling kits in the amp now.
