Starting on my version of the TW Songwriter 30

Drilled and punched holes, made boards, and did some component mounting.

Using Edcor:

OT CXPP30-MS-3k8 4/8/16 30w rated

I don't know the exact values of the silvermica caps used in the preamp to the Clarostat 3M-S bass volume pot but I'm going to take a guess and see how it sounds.

I'll post more pictures as it goes together.

Yes those are nice photos thanks.

Got some more done based on the photo I had.

I need to order a PEC 250k pot as well thought I had one but apparently not.
Stuck a 1m in there to plug hole. :)

I've had this chassis and parts sitting in a custom head cab by Taylor for probably more then 1 year. So you can see I'm not really blazing away on this project.

I do plan to keep at this one and finish it up soon.

Nice & clean Mark.
The parts count makes this very tempting.
I'll be interested in how it sounds buddy.
Great work.

Thanks, the 3M-S (linear) pot is the only thing a person has to search for.

Question for my great family of amp builders: I have two old 5M long shaft pots could those be used for 3M if a resistor is used across the pot to lower value? My 3M-S Clarostat is a screw driver adjust pot so I'm going to cut down the threads to get a knob on the shaft.

You can but I think the taper gets screwy. Looks great! I'm interested in one of these too.

V1 is wired parallel and doesn't use a typical tone stack. Diode rectified and has NFB.

See Hogy's report.

Ordered 250kA PEC pot and found another longer shaft 3ML pot to replace my Clarostat pot. I'll wire up the filaments and power tubes while I wait for parts.
