New Rocket Reverb
Here is my newly finished Rocket Reverb with an octal output section. Built from RJ's schematic using hammond driver and tank from an organ pull. Caps are Phillips mustards. Cabinet is select cherry with gloss shellac and tung oil.

Re: New Rocket Reverb
I changed out the output transformer from the one shown in these gut shots as it was an 8 ohm only winding. The amp now has the edcor shown in the first shots. The bottom end sustains forever and the top is crystal clear. She's best played wide open in typical trainwreck fasion with control from the guitar volume. The local guitar center guys went nuts over her.

And again. I am never going to be any good at this, but you are!
You know, you aren't all that far from me. I would love to find time to meet that amp. Dunno..
Rock! it!

Re: New Rocket Reverb
Great looking build and one of my favorite amps the octal Reverb Rocket.
I had used Normster's layout for mine.

Re: New Rocket Reverb
Which schematic did you use?
Re: New Rocket Reverb
I used RJ's schematic with a couple of small mods here and there. With the big bottles I run higher than usual B+ voltages at just over 400 volts loaded. 200 uf on the power tube cath's with 360 ohm resistor and added a brite switch.

Re: New Rocket Reverb
Nice looking build... lemme know if you have tweaks that are so good I ought to consider updating the schematic and layout. Even though that build has been around for a while I still run across a good tweak here and there. These days I like a modifed Fender tonestack above the Vox or modifed Marshall stacks that I used in the early Rockster builds.
Sorry about the broken link, that was my old web page and when I went to the new format makes things got a little more complicated. I'll try to get it figured out and see if I can either make that link work or create a new one.

This is the one I wish I had back. Gobs of headroom and chime. It was last seen heading towards Sterling VA. The guy it went to appreciated it to say the least.
