My rig of shame
Here's a little bit of my various rigs. I haven't been gigging much lately and I wish I could say I was building a lot of amps but my tiny domecile doesn't permit much. That said, I'm looking for a house in S. Oregon and hope to be moved by June or July. I'm currently digging my Trussart Steelcaster...

Re: Effects Loop - Cables
I've had mostly good results with some long runs using expanding polyester sleve-ing. But sometimes a cable refuses to lay amongst the other cables properly. The cable bundle never seems to wrap up correctly after that. To reduce squashing I send the signal to a Countryman DI then to the FX return. ...

Re: Marshall prototype No.2 from 1962 on ebay
So too much! Ken Bran's friggin' prototipo. I guess if one lives long enough they really do see it all. I'd guess it's pretty a remote chance that I'd ever find any of the metal film Beyschlags in the US. Funny how Ritchie Blackmore was a respected judge of tone at one time. He was such a pompous as...

I believe it was Ken's kin that did 'em. In one of the first two Phlugerville books I believe is where I saw this. I'll check my copies. Noel Grassy. Did you mean Pflugerville? ha! i live on the other side of I35 from Pflugerville. i know Kendrick used to be there. What are these books being mentio...

Really? I presumed it to be susceptible to the same induced energy with ageoffrod wrote:just for future reference guys and to remove the confussion he had to turn the trannies 90degrees not 45degrees.
90 degree rotation. My bad geoffrod. I'm glad you told me,

Re: Let's See Your Rig!
selloutrr,
Your daughter's gear looks boss! I trust she has some
little riotgrrrrl friends that are starting their first band. I wish I
had a short scale to start with. A kid's hands can't really function
on a full-sized guitar.
I like your gear too. What's a bottlecap pickup? A Piezo mic?

Nice start!
I've altered your picture to indicate what the above posts are
telling you. This is for the reduction of induced transformer noise.
If you already knew this, kindly disregard.

Ornery Legume
+1 for the madbean! The work he put in getting the Blackstone sussed should elevate him to saint status! He also prepared the first ever schematic for the Burns Buzzaround, Cornish G-2, and many more. He's got a great attitude to boot. Zachy Vexxery used to try and stomp a mudhole in him on the HC b...

Ahh, the velvet Tolex®...
Sergio, As velvety as that stuff may appear it is actually suede leather as in Cow hide . At least here in the US it's getting very difficult to obtain the large pieces needed for an amp head. To clarify, large pieces with a uniform texture. They closed the last leather mill in Santa Cruz a decade a...

Re: Dumble Fake Amps in Circulation
Curious news, wow! Two weeks ago they were selling a pair of "original" narrow boxed Marshall cabinets that didn't look quite right to me. The handles weren't like others I've seen from the '63~'65 period. But the Celestions sure looked correct but they could've pulled them from elsewhere too. At $5...

The Trojan Capacitor as a business model?
What sort of mind would go to these lengths in order to pull down say $5~$10K USD? In order for this chiseler to be selling train cars full of these "Gypsy" caps and making it worthwhile, wouldn't his operation require a formidable workforce? Let alone the numbers of parts (2 for 1)?? Uck me, ...

Re: EHX Cathedral Reverb Pedal Review
The reverb in my Eventide Eclipse is beyond the pale. I thought the Lexicon reverb was superb but with this new doodad I'm floored by the
spaces it creates. It'll be a long while before I need to buy another ambience type implement!

Is that the same fellow who had Warren Haynes over to his house last year? IIRC that joker had a few Trainwrecks in his living room. Casual.
