Would a 12Ω speaker out on a 1-2 watt amp be considered unstable? Wouldn't this work okay with either an 8Ω or a 16Ω cabinet without much turmoil? I'm just wondering what the impedance mismatch of +/- 4Ω would do to a mini setup. I'm sure it will work fine, but just curious about...

Well, circumstances kept me from scrounging through the pre-auction inventory. I missed the boat on that one. But, my friend felt sorry for me & gave me a nice Hakko variable temp soldering station. Wasn't a total loss.

The hosting company appears to have gone out of business. Allyn now has it setup with a different company. They are working on getting it back up on the new server and that's all I know Gotcha. Just wanted to check & see if I could help out somehow. I actually downloaded the ampbuilders guild pages...

What should I take into consideration when choosing a material for my turret boards? It seems to me that it would not matter much since these are mainly passive components with audio applications, maybe just a thickness issue?

What is the theory behind tube spacing? Is there an optimum/standard distance observed for tube placement, maybe dependent upon type/power being used? Given the dynamics of tubes, what would cause interference between them, thus defining this spacing?

Old Hiwatt chassis had the PT at one end and the OT at the other, which made the amps nicely balanced to carry. 8) However, the chassis were large and deep, so they had plenty of space to play with internally. --mark Hi Mark, Thanks for the Hiwatt pic. And answering your other questions.... Signal amplification should happen in a linear order from one end of the chassis toward the other.
