Not much happening in ND except fracking and freezing. I will take MN over ND any day of the week.
Still hoping for a Vikings Super Bowl victory or a Wild Stanley Cup.

Re: Merren built Express output transformers
G'Day Mark 8) No reference to Merren making A470s, just that there are clones available as it's the preferred Rocket OT. Works great for a pair of EL34s too. It was OEM on Dynaco ST-70 amps. Those were pp pairs of EL34s running A470s as a HiFi amp. Maybe Chris has made these as well. Pacific has Roc...

Re: Tube question Trainwreck Express
I'd say stick to NOS, but finding them today versus a decade ago is nearly impossible and crazy expensive. Yes, Tungsram 12AX7s are the go to preamp tube, but finding them? Many tube makers sold them under multiple names, thus knowing what to look for design wise (and codes) can help you find those ...

Re: Merren built Express output transformers
There are quite a few options for transformers that work for Wrecks, if you know what you are looking for. There have been many incarnations made by Heyboer, various lam types/stacks, cores and windings. Triode has/had A470 clones made by Heyboer. Many other folks have had various versions of A470s ...

Back after long hiatus!
Hey Folks, It’s been quite a long time since I have been active here, but life has changed enough for me to get back to building some amps. I have enough parts to build damn near anything and figured I either use them or sell a bunch of it. More fun building than selling, so new amps for my arsenal ...

Re: What're you listening to right now??
Hey Folks, Back on the board here after taking a very long hiatus. I am always listening to music, save for when I have meetings and such. I especially dig live music recordings as it captures a performance. If you all haven't heard of Relisten.net, go take a visit as it's pretty awesome. Their mobi...

Lots of folks came aboard here once 18watt jumped the shark. Too many sharts over there ruined the place.

I personally think an express shouldn't have a loop. It was never intended for one.

Re: Songwriter Group Build -- Not Gonna Happen
Not to flog this horse any further than it needs to be, but aren't you being just a touch hypocritical Hogy? You're bitching about clones being built of an amp that you didn't design, but sell as one of your products? Essentially, you are building clones too then are you not? The whole legally licen...

Here are my 2 bikes, example photos from the web as I don't have any good photos. Both are being stored until I move next month.
