Re: Does anyone have a source for Perfboard?

All Perfboard/prototyping board/punchboard is not created equal. I don't consider myself an expert on the subject but thought i would try and describe the differences and share some of the info I have gathered while trying to find a supplier. The original board material in thw TWs was made of Phenol...

Re: Does anyone have a source for Perfboard?

Here is one I found but the dimensions of the board are'nt exactly that good but it may get you through until we can find a supplier with the right size.

Re: Does anyone have a source for Perfboard?

Last time I checked, Radio Shack and Digikey stocked perfboard that has the holes at .1" centers and .042" in diameter. I believe the Perfboard that Allynmey is looking for has holes spaced at .265" and .092" in diameter. The only maker I have found so far is Thorosen and they don't list it in their...

Re: My first Trainwreck clone

Actually the 4 X 10 cab is for a 18watt head that I built. It has a modified 5f4 Fender Super front end with a Marshall norm channel and power section. I'll definately give it a try on the Wreck though.

Re: My first Trainwreck clone

Hey Moose Thanks for the advice everyone! My 18watt was nowhere NEAR as touch sensetive as my 'wreck. In fact, I ended up doing extensive modifications to it because it paled when compared to the wreck. Even after the modifications, which make the PI quite close to a liverpool, it isn't as sensetive...

Re: board dimensions for a wreck

I'm not sure about the exact size, but I think the hole spacing on the perfboard is .265". I counted the holes and it is 8 hole wide and 40 holes long. That comes out to ruffly 2" x 10".

Re: My first Trainwreck clone

Dana, First, welcome to the forum! Your build looks really good, a very genuine looking clone. Eric Thanks for the kind words. This amp is really a 'testbed' if you will. I hope to build my next one with the right new chassis, Trannys and such and make it a lot nicer looking. You can subdue it some...

I salvaged it from the donor amp and cleaned it up and cut it to size. I have enough left over to make one more PS board but that's about it.

Re: My first Trainwreck clone

I am going to try and see if my son can't record some of it today at their practice. If this doesn't work I will take it to Richie's and leave it with him so I can try and get him to do a clip or two when he gets time. I am running a Used Mullard 12ax7( made in GB) in V1 (My last one I might add), a...

My first Trainwreck clone

Hey guys! This is my first post so please be gentle.....I have been repairing and building amps for years. I took about 15 years off from the hobby and am just getting back into it. I built an Express using the layouts from the pictures that HeeBGB and Allynmey posted to the A1 schematic's specs in ...
