Re: Started New Express build

I spent 15 years in western Washington...I understand the cabin fever.
I grew up in San Diego where one day was pretty much like the rest - you know temp in the 70's, mostly sunny...yawn. I wish I could afford to buy back the house I sold there in 1986.

I took my old '73 Strat into a guitar shop once to try out an amp. When I pulled it out of the case the kid working there said "Cool aging job, did you do it yourself?"

I replied "Yeah, but it took me forty years."
 Classic.

Congrats Shaunf. The demo really shows the dynamics not only of the amp you built but your ability as a guitarist as well.

Re: Heyboer & Pacifc - Transformer Vibration & Hum in a

Interesting thread, thanks for reviving it. The Edcor in my Express has a vibration. When I power up on Standby, I can hear the vibration coming from the amp cabinet (not the speaker cab). I planned on tightening the fasteners on the transformers but it appears as though that's just wishful thinking...

Re: Motorcycles and musicians

Great thread. I think there is something about a penchance for music and motorcycles. Not sure how it connects, but it seems to be there. I think I got into both early on, not sure if one was before the other. Anyhow, I didn't have either, just dreamed about riding a motorbike or playing guitar in a...

What's up with the coffee cup in the left corner? :?: :?:

EDIT: Doh!! I see now, I'm looking right through the amp. The background color had me bamboozled.

Do any of you use Digi-Key or is Mouser a better choice? I've had good experiences with Digi-Key in the past.

Re: Over the Moon - Thanks So Much

OK, so I've lurked here for nearly a year gleaning as much info as I could. I'm still in dis-belief with regards to how great this amp is. You read the descriptions and all the hype, but you don't know. My wife asked me to to put it into words and I had a difficult time. Balanced, thick yet articula...
