The layout in this thread has been -extremely- helpful to me. The PS caps are listed as 22/47 and should be 20/40, but most other things are accurate.

Re: External Bias Pot and Test Points
Jeph,
Thanks so much for sharing the pic and feedback! It's not a "classic" Trainwreck, but if it doesn't affect the tone or responsiveness of the original design, I'm all for sensible mods too.
I could post my practical app bias q's elsewhere if there are no takers.
Thanks all,
Dave

Re: External Bias Pot and Test Points
Jeph's post is the one that prompted me to ask about running off into "rural" chasis real estate. Did it work? How were the runs lead dressed to minimize probs? On the other hand, Elcabong put his test points (and bias pot?) right next to the power tubes on the chasis. How did that work out? Just lo...

External Bias Pot and Test Points
Has anyone completed an Express with an external bias pot (thru top of chasis) with test points too? How did you implement it wrt method (x ohm resistors at y socket points etc,) and locations? The real estate around the Francesca bias pot is pretty crowded, and don't know if running everything off ...

Re: wreck express
I haven't built one yet, but going by Francesca, there are a couple of more diff's. It doesn't show the 3 diodes to ground from each of the power tubes (pin 3). Also, the "bias" should be connected to the junction of the 15k and 47k resistors, and not to the bias pot itself. What I don't know, from ...

Re: Chasis Revisited
Thanks for the reply. I hadn't thought about hardware as a gap filler, but you're right. Am trying to get a pre-drilled chasis so I have to only do unplanned drilling/punching (except probably the transformers). I know that Omar sent Nik (Ceriatone) a drawing, but it was for a slightly smaller chasi...

Chasis Revisited
Has anyone ordered/received an express chasis recently? Did a search and found quite a bit of good info, with Ceriatone one of the more interesting suppliers. Does anyone have a listing of the exact holes for each component? The files section has a great drill guide, but not hole sizes. Most I can f...

Re: Ginger Clone Project Progress (Completed!!!)
Dana,
Congrats on the Liverpool, it looks great! That's cool that it is a more "rounded" amp.
A little too late for Bunny, eh? Maybe you can auction off the naming rights on ebay, LOL.

Re: Trainwreck .mpeg's in the files section
I've had the same problem with a different twist. Open up one of the clips and all I get is video, no audio. Tapping his foot in time ;) Upon opening the clip, WMP accesses the internet and tries to connect to the codec server. Get a quick "download error" and then procedes on to play the video only...

Re: Caps?
Did the Mallory brand change hands or production facilities? This caused me confusion a couple weeks ago; caps were called CD, but spec sheets were Mallory.

I'm in Fairfax myself, but not doing a wreck build yet (scoping it out right now, esp. thru this board;)
Have some interesting amps tho.

Re: 20AWG solid core Teflon wire - A plug for ApexJr
Need to revive this one myself. I got some of the teflon-coated silver tinned solid core from Apex Jr, and am having a hard time stripping it.
Is there a particular brand that anyone can recommend for a good teflon stripper (preferably autostripping)? RS and Home Depot stock don't cut it.

Which spice modeler do you use? I've started back up using Tina.
