Re: PSA Hammond transformer blowout

I received a Panavise 396 that I ordered a few days ago from this seller today. $48 was much better than $75 everywhere else + shipping

Re: Any suggestions for quality solid core wire source

+1 for Steve's Teflon wire. Excellent wire for a great price! Steve at Apex jr. also has the best teflon silver tinned copper strand wire. Available in every color. Strips flawlessly, takes a good prebend, no breakage issues, comes on round plastic rolls, great prices. After stripping, dip the end i...

Re: Build Log - #102 - So it Begins

I ended up making a circle jig and routing out the rounded corners. It worked much better! I definitely still need to practice this a bit more to get it closer to perfect but it works for now.
Very glad I could help refine a process for you - the back panel turned out great - nice work!

Re: Build Log - #102 - So it Begins

How do you guys go about cutting the rounded edges in your back panels? I gave up trying to cut a consistent line with a Jigsaw a long time ago. These days I use a circle jig. You can buy a commercial one or easily make your own. Here's an example on amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01K86VSSI/ref...

Re: Dr. Zed Remedy tone loss when guitar is rolled off

The resistors on the input jack are parallel 1M and 58K.
Seems like an odd way to get 54.8K, eh?

Is the 1M supposed to be the 1M to ground on the input? could the jack be mis-wired causing your issue?

Re: PCB based Dumbles

I would very much be interested in the reverb version of this layout as I am interested in learning PCB construction.

Thanks,

rootz -

After recently reworking someones old visio file for my own 124 build, I appreciate the time it took to create such a neat and tidy layout. Kudos to you!

Thanks,

Another Apex Jr. user here.
I also got Bourns pots and PTFE Hookup wire from Steve as well. Great stuff with great prices!

Here's an all loctal/octal ODS with apex teflon wire:

Weber has a decent BOM in excel format for all of their amp kits....their take on a twin is the 6a80.

Re: Tweed Cabinet Build

I am also challenged by boxjoints/fingerjoints/dovetails and like others here I chose a solution that was inexpensive, strong, and easy: Biscuits! Too many years of watching Norm Abrahms slamming drahws together with his biscuit joinah, I guess. I got a Ryobi unit that was inexpensive. The biscuits ...

Re: Pro Reverb Conversion - Caution ... Torres content

I dont know that this thing was worth a mim tele. Ouch! It's still a 69 Pro reverb, albeit with a ton of crappy mods. Worst case is return it to blackface specs and play the sh!t out of it. I just want to have some fun with it first, and learn a bit about dumble's circuits firsthand. I would say th...

Pro Reverb Conversion - Caution ... Torres content

So, I have a 69 pro reverb that has been converted to vintage fizz generator by Dan Torres ( i traded a mim tele for it in this condition). It is truly an awful sounding amp now. I have been using the effects return to run it as a power amp for my line 6 XT, but now I am ready to convert it over to ...
