Re: How to boost volume level in Express for lead playing
switchable speaker cabs! one with greenies, one with h30's . impractical but it could work... actually with a 412 you might be able to go from one half of the 412 to using the full thing, impedence mismatch might be a bit to much for the ot though.

Re: need beginner amp idea
build him a ruby from rog. about 1/4 watt solid state and 15 bucks in parts. sounds quite decent through a 412. for portability i have a speaker out of a fener amp i nabbed from the local guitar junk pile for free. easy build, and gets you those ACDCish tones. it even has a clean sound... but at 1/4...

It's here for us to admire if we can afford the beauty of it If we can afford the luxury of turning our heads (If we can if we can if we can) Adjust the thousand dollar smile and behold the creation of man Great words won't cover ugly actions Good frames won't save bad paintings WOOO We lack the mot...

Re: Key to the "touch sensitivity" of TWs - 1st gain s
from what ive read, the main reason the tw cleans up so well is because the tubes get pushed over the edge prety much at the same time. starting slightly with the powers and moving backward to v1. then again i have never tested that theory so i could be out to lunch.

here in canada at least, colege and university are two different things. university is like high class colege... if you wanna be a teacher for example you would need to go to university not colege

Re: SuperWreck ..would it work?
sounds like you want two completely different amps in one chassis... why not two seperate amps with an a/b/y box? you have to consider the diferences in the speakers theese amps use too. the super probly wouldnt have that same magic through the closed back greenback loaded cab that the twreck likes....

Re: Dumble Lite? - Update, Finished!!!
hey there. i dont exactly post here often. but this sounds like a neat idea. maybe a simplified tone stack could be worth trying, like a dc30 swichable cap or just a simple tone knob. it would be a bit of a departure from the "dumble" idea but it would make it easy(er) to understand for a beginner a...

Re: Simplest Master Volume EVER
i thought the ef86 channel just jammed the pi for its distortion... the ef86 itself just provides a bit of compression... it would probably work on the clean (lightning) side though. then again im not exactly an amp guru either.

hi Elcabong, ive been floating aroung ax84 passively for the past two years or so... i swear i read over that p1 theory doc a million times by now (along with the different amp schematics they have there) trying to make myself understand how they work before i decide to tackle building anything... i...
