Re: 3rd Gen ODS by FictitiousFuzz
…the CMF60s at 1w 500V should be fine right? That sounds fine, but do you have a link to the datasheet you posted? It seems to show much higher wattage ratings than the one I linked. [edit: found it, CMF series. Those should be fine. Even though 0.5W is enough for plate loads, I'd go with the CMF65...

Re: 3rd Gen ODS by FictitiousFuzz
Thank you and I’m glad my questions were helpful - it took me a long time to work up the courage to start asking, lol. This community of experts is so very generous and helpful to the new guys like us! I’ve learned so much on this site from these great folks and truly appreciate all the knowledge a...

Here's a link to Dale RN65D: https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Vishay-Dale/RN65D1003FB14?qs=23HxBOW7cwyqtBo7WYb2kg%3D%3D Not exactly cheap at $1.50 each for RN65D's, but you only need four for an ODS. The data sheet shows specs for Mil style RNXX, which are equivalent to CMFXX. Good point and th...

Re: 3rd Gen ODS by FictitiousFuzz
Kudos for doing all of your own work on this! Got a link to the data sheet for the RN60's you used? This thread belongs in the Discussion section. Can someone move it, please? **Moderator: moved** Thanks Martin! That means a lot from you! Yeah i posted it above, they are the CMF60 not the RND60, i ...

Re: 3rd Gen ODS by FictitiousFuzz
I see now, im using a different series of dales, i don't know how i did that or why they look identical, they are smaller than the few RND65s i have. Once i know for sure whats up ill update my layout. Hopefully these CMF are good because man i really stocked up.

Re: 3rd Gen ODS by FictitiousFuzz
Hey Camden, congrats on your build! Nice job! Cab looks super cool too. You may want to revisit the plate resistors though, I think RN60 may be on the rating edge and HAD used RN65 for the plates anyway. I'm sure Martin will chime in with the exact calculation :D Something else to consider is your ...

3rd Gen ODS by FictitiousFuzz
Hello My amp obsessed friends I've decided to move my ongoing discussion here to share a comprehensive view of my third-generation Dumble amp build. This includes all the details—layouts, photos, and a video demonstration of the tone. **Background:** As long as I’ve been alive I’ve wanted to play an...

Re: 3rd gen 50w build
what abstinence normally leads to……. Abstinence makes the fart grow stronger? Anyway, yeah, building a one-off amp from a recipe is only the first step! There will always be tweaking after the build is completed, whether to meet the tastes of the builder or the client. Yes, until eventual...

Re: 3rd gen 50w build
The bright switch is almost always too bright By all means, choose a smaller bright cap! Nice work! Thank you! Good point, my inner urge to start going mad scientist is very strong at the moment so i was trying to abstain from any modifications. I had almost forgotten what abstinence normally leads...

Re: 3rd gen 50w build
Alright, i still have some work to do on the head cabinet. I opted for solid pine because i like dovetails and i can do them quicker than most else. Its gonna be heavy! Im going to attempt to make a handle and the corners from the leftover orange leather but it needs to be strong. First time turning...
