Re: Project started

I am following version A1b and Richies fixed layout is this OK? Fixed Layout? What was fixed? The only mistakes that I have found with A1b is the 470k bleeder resistor in the PS should be 2 x 100k 2w resistors in series and the bright switch shows a 10pf cap while other schematics shows a 100pf cap.

Re: anyone know what's up with 18 watt?

Hey Nitro and everyone else new from 18watt. I witnessed both threads and even replied to one of them. The two parties involved should have taken it outside as others have suggested. I hope they both get banned. If I remember one other person left because of a commercial entities hocking there wares...

Re: Really helpful, thank you!

And yes, I'll be using red chicken head knobs as soon as I get my hands on some. On with the show. Humbucker Those Red CH knobs are beautiful but if you are using the standard layout for the controls their may not be enough room between the controls to use the CHs without them interfering with each...

Nik

The only thing I have to measure with is a ruler, but the picture and dimensions look good to me.

Re: TW Express perfboards available

Nik Oh I see what you mean regarding the spaces. I just finished a batch of boards and decided just to measure them. The length measured 4 7/8" The widest part of the board was 3 1/2" The width from offset was 3 1/4" That's about as close as I can get with a ruler. If you go with the specs on your d...

Re: TW Express perfboards available

Hi there, I am trying to standardize mtg holes of the power supply board for the chassis. what concerns me is the actual dims: If we have .265 spacing (I assume c to c), then with 17 spaces in the width, thatd be about 4.5" only (plus about .265/2 for each end for ttoal width of about 4.77). Is the...

Re: Starting an amp building project ('90 Kelly).

I'd say stick with 1 k, 25 watts. It's part of the design and definitely effects how the amp behaves. It will get pretty warm. I was reading Nik's post regarding his prototype express build. He mentioned that he didn't have a 20w and used a 10w. His remark was "Hot!!" http://maximoaudio.com/forum/v...

Re: Here goes!

Welcome aboard Jeph!! I have no idea regarding the font. I got to hear my Express through a couple of Mesa 1 x 12 cabs last weekend and A/B them with an old acoustic 4 x 12 cab. The 2 x 12s sounded great but I really liked the sound of the 4 x 12's bottom end. :D My son's lead player will be using t...

Welcome to the site!!! OK "Express inspired", PPIMV, MXR Knobs..... That's just to cool. You got to tell us more about this amp or post some pics or clips. What part of the amp is taken from the Express?

Re: The Topic of "Flea's"

D Yea these are the wrong size and the are made differently compared to what Ken Used. The holes in the board are .093". The bottom clips could be used but they won't look exactly the same and they don't have the right angle side piece for making connections in two or three different directions. Tha...
