Re: 2204 chassis deminsions
I'm looking for the faceplate measurements, the locations to drill the holes. My build is gonna most likely use the mojotone 18 watt/jtm blank chassis. https://www.mojotone.com/Undrilled-Aluminum-Chassis I want to put that into a small box head cab. I'm using AA Electronics PCB and JCM800/2204 stand...

2204 chassis deminsions
Does anybody have any chassis deminsions or blueprint for the 2204? Specifically the bat switch type faceplate?

Any AA Electronics Marshall info?
Has anybody on here built one of the marshall boards? I bought one, and plan on a 2204 build with it. But I'm having a difficult time finding actuall builds. Ive not messed with very much marshall stuff through my life, which is a shame. So I bit the bullet on another project. Kinda looking for some...

Storing Tubes
How does everyone store their tubes? I have a small stash of about 100 various preamp and power tubes. I've broken at least three, one because I am a moron and two because my current box which is falling apart is not ideal for storing tubes. I would like to store my best ones in some form of case, o...

TEXAS SWAMP. Eminence speaker combo question
seems like I have read in a few places, but wanted to ask here. Has anybody used a Eminence Swamp Thing with a Texas Heat in a higher powered open back combo? Thinking about swapping out one of my Swamp Things for a Texas Heat in my Twin Reverb. Right now it sounds good, but the bass is just a tad h...

Re: Vintage Guitar Magazine Dumble article
I believe the first time I heard of a Dumble was in a SRV article talking about his amps. Dumble? What's that? I must have been about 15 (46 now). Between the fact that I would never afford a real dumble and the amp garage is what got me into working on and building amps. Well that and I could not a...

Re: Fuse Holder Supplier
Well shit. I ordered some fuse holders by schurter but they are marked 32v x6.3a size. I was wanting 20x5 mm. Reading in Merlins book, he states the most common sizes are 20x5 mm and 32x6.3mm Are 32 x 6.3 mm the same as 32 x 6.3a? Some places I see 32volt x 6.3amp. This is quite frustrating. I am tr...

Re: Resistors question yet again.
Yes Guy, I have looked into KOA Speer. I had not, for what reason I don't know, looked at this website https://www.koaspeer.com/products/leaded-resistors/ I have a PCB ruler coming so I will be able to use it to help with sizing if needed. I can understand what the data sheets say regarding size.

Re: Tube amp grounding article/info/links
Phil, have you built any high gain amps with this ground at the PT end?
While the PT ground works, the idea is that it lowers the noise floor at the input side of the chassis.
Are your amps noise free?

Resistors question yet again.
After some struggle and reading data sheet after data sheet, I've come to the conclusion that I need some help from you guys. I'm gonna start stocking on resistors. For Metal Oxide 2 and 3 watt I like the PO2 and PO3 Vishay drailect (spelling?). I need to know what everyone is using for the smaller ...

Re: Do I have this Bias setup correct?
I already have a 10k bias resistor mounted to a bracket and installed, I'm just not sure if I have the parts. I know I don't have the capacitors. Matter of fact I may not have the parts for either setup. Right now the amp is setup with my schematic, except for R4. When I get back to the amp at my ot...

Re: Do I have this Bias setup correct?
I appreciate the help. I believe I'll use the last layout/circuit since I think I have all the parts and it won't be much extra work. Martin. Do you prefer building schematics on spice over KiCad? I'm going to dabble in spice also. Main thing I have been using KiCad for is to just build up a schemat...

Re: ODS 4x6V6
Nice amp. I had considered something like this years ago. Was told "dumbles need punch. May as well make it a fifty watt. May as well make it 100 watt". And I understand all that. So anyway, how is the response and feel of the amp? Do you have a higher wattage, or similar wattage Dumble type to comp...

Do I have this Bias setup correct?
This is a schematic I made of the AB165 balance bias amp I am working on. I added the bias adjustment to the factory bias balance setup. I do not have the 100K Bias Pot protection resistor R4 installed yet. I want to make sure that I have R2 and RV1 set up correctly first. Should the wiper (Pin 2) g...
