Re: BOSS-type pedal parts supplier?

Yes, I've examined the circuity a bit and understand the JFET part. It was really more of the actual housing and switch mechanism I was interested in finding.

BOSS-type pedal parts supplier?

Has anyone had any success in finding a supplier for pedals similar to the BOSS configuration, with that nice, meaty but gentle footswitch? I'm working on a multi-effects project and would prefer to use that type of footswitch rather than the typical "step stick"... so annoying! I have done a bit of...

PCB manufacturers

Hey group! I'm considering doing a design that will use a PCB format and I know there are manufacturers out there who will take in a design and make a quantity of the design for the customer. The design I'm working on will actually be a bunch of small boards, about 2" wide by 3" long, with about 15 ...

Re: Reverb Tank Placement

Yes, I read something about that. I have to check which model I bought, I "think" it's supposed to be mounted downwards, so I might consider buying one that can hang from the top of the amp head to save a little space.

Chassis Layout

Hey group, I've posted a chassis layout in the past and I think I've come to the conclusion I need something longer than what I had started to put together (17" to 20"). This will definitely make the layout more linear but it seems like not many off-the-shelf manufacturers (Hammond, Bud, etc) make c...

Re: Reverb Tank Placement

Thanks! That's another option and it might save me a little height in the amp head construction.

Reverb Tank Placement

Hey group, My build plan is starting to come together and although I'm a bit away from building the head and cabinet, I've got a question about the placement of the reverb tank. The tank is an 16.5" long spring reverb (unsure why I got one that long!) and my intent was to mount it in the amp head be...

Re: Power Supply Drop Resistor

Thanks. I'm reworking things and looking at the Valve Wizard site to get a better idea of what would work better.

Re: Offset Waveform?

Many thanks to all the comments! After hearing this for about the 20th time, I think it is starting to sink in! Not entirely sure what I did with the SPICE model, if anyone has used it, they understand there are a few quirks with the software you have to watch out for! I went back through the circui...

Offset Waveform?

Hey group, I am using LTSpice to do some circuit mockup/testing and I often run into the issue as shown in the attached image. The input signal to the triode is a perfect sine wave (in this case 440 Hz) but after it passes through the tube, the wave form is shifted more to the negative and also seem...

Re: Chassis Layout

Updated Chassis Layout: Thanks for all of your comments, group! Based on the suggestions provided, I did the following: * Moved all the tubes to the rear of the chassis away from the control pots * Ditched the tube Line Out and will just use a resistor network off the Output Stage (see https://www.d...

Re: Chassis Layout

if you're going into an interface, replacing the 'top' resistor in the voltage divider with a resistor and pot (wired as a rheostat) will give you a bit more volume control in the event that your interface does not want such a hot input signal (did this for a fella for his amp). the OTHER thing to ...

Re: Chassis Layout

for line out i never use a tube, just a voltage divider off the output transformer like this: https://www.thetubestore.com/lib/thetubestore/schematics/Fender/Fender-Bassman-135-Schematic.pdf two resistors is much nicer than a triode and a bunch of other components, and depending on where the jacks ...

Re: Chassis Layout

What kind of cab is it going in, eg valves down combo, valves up head? Sorry, I didn't make note of that did I? I intend for the chassis to be on the bottom, with a valves pointing upwards. This will likely be mounted in a head, with a speaker cabinet separate below. I was going to do a combo but u...
