EVH 5150 III 6L6 Supersonic mod info please
I got new EVH 5150 III 6L6 50W amp and I am not quite happy with the sound, it's harsh and has a V shaped EQ character. I have seen mod on the internet called SuperSonic mod and clips are awesome, adds mids and cuts through the mix, sounds perfect. It says it has an added pot for dialing "high order...

Re: Bugera G20 Infinium schematic anybody?
Got used Bugera G20 Infinium amp, in perfect factory condition, but it does not sound anything like other people amps on Youtube. Talking about Distortion channel. I even put new tubes, it got a little better but stil not good, missing clarity and presence. Opened it up, everything looks pristine, a...

Re: Matched Tubes?
It is initial reading, yes they might get closer later but also they might get further apart. Got them from ThomannRockwell666 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 25, 2018 3:26 pm are they burnt in or is this the initial reading? also where did u get the tubes? some places match better then others.

Matched Tubes?
I got "Matched Quartet" of JJ EL34. When installed they read: 30mA, 30mA, 28mA and 35mA Is that considered "Matched" because 28mA and 35mA are quite apart?

Re: Pop when taking off Standby
Yeap, it was the switch! I know the amp is OK without it but I just got a brand new one today anyway, just to keep the amp in original shape if I ever wanna sell it, buyers are weird that way Everything is perfect and silent now. Thanks everybody

Re: Pop when taking off Standby
UPDATE !!!!! Problem is developing further, when I take it off Standby there is three options now: 1. No sound at all, nothing happens, 2. Just hum, noise 3. Pops but works again... I am suspecting the actual Standby Switch is gone bad ? I checked the diodes right after the switch, they are conducti...

Pop when taking off Standby
Although I waited sufficient time after turning the Power on, Laney VH100R pops when taking off Standby. This happens even if after hours of playing I turn the Standby On and then Off to play again, it pops again. I tried changing the tubes, all pre-amp 12ax7's and power tubes 6L6's or EL34's so it ...

Re: Peavey Valve King 112 Humming from the speaker?
Well, I have loosen up the screws that hold the amp chassis fixed to the wooden enclosure and the humming has stopped. I am not really proud of the solution but I could not find anything else wrong with the amp.. As long as nobody sits on it or put something heavy on it, the amp is working perfectly...

Peavey Valve King 112 Humming from the speaker?
I have on my hands a Peavey Valve King 112 that has a humming noise coming from the speaker after few minutes when it worms up, this is the funny part: it's only humming in normal position, if I turn the combo on the side or upside-down there is NO humming, everything is perfect! I am in the process...

Re: Loses sparkle and highs as it warms up
I would think that if you measure 6.3v on the heaters with the 127v provided from your step down transformer, that you have the "propper" winding already. Yes, but that was lucky moment during the night when the town is at sleep and voltage in the grid is up, during the day when all the consumers a...

Re: Loses sparkle and highs as it warms up
Well the good news is there is no change in the heater voltage when the amp worms up. I am getting more and more convinced that the problem is in the mains voltage over here in Serbia, for example at the practice pad I get only 110 V from the step-up transformer, in that case my heater voltage is on...

Re: Loses sparkle and highs as it warms up
Well I should probably mention that I am in Europe and using American version of the amp through step up/down transformer. I am not able to feed the amp with exactly 120 Volts, it is getting 115 or 116 Volts to begin with. (Europe also has only 50 Hz freq.) Now this sad, the facts are as follows: -H...
