Hi all, Didn’t want to start a new thread about the same issue. I built an amp, a plexi based amp, 50w 2 EL 34, 3 12AX7 pre amp. I finished the amp and all the debugging after a new built was done. Voltages were great, and sounded great. Upon cleaning my desk, I thought I’ve disconnected my AC power...

Not an expert but, that 3rd gain stage is what makes the express what it is. IMHO if I were to add an effect loop on that amp would not be btw the 3rd gain stage and PI as I think it will overdistort the sound. I think it be better off btw the second and 3rd stage. IIRC Glen uses G12Ms 102 003 which are 75hz..the same ones that I use...I had plenty of low end..... I checked the celestion website and they offer 2 types of G12Ms, a "Greenback" and a "Heritage Series". They are 5 watts apart in rating and have very similar freq plots.
