Re: Faceplate Materials

I'd like to know what fender uses, the black printed on aluminum faceplates. Never been a fan of plastic or stickers. The thin metal faceplates would be nice for a number of projects.

Re: ODS #020 for sale on Reverb

Its low end was a bit more loose than expected for a 100W amp but I wouldn't call it fizzy. The preamp switches work left to right and it took some listening get acquainted and to realize that the "jazz and rock" label was reverse of the function. With it left toward "jazz" it was actually louder an...

Re: ODS #020 for sale on Reverb

Haven't posted here in a while, but I just got to play this thing. Never thought I'd ever get so close to a real one. I was a bit nervous considering the monetary value, but I took all the knobs for a spin and gave it a good listen. Didn't get a look inside. It really does sound nice and the aluminu...

strange biasing problems

Finished up the amp i was building for a friend, powered it up and checked the voltages- everything looks good. plug tubes in and start to bias... one tube is "normal" the other is off the charts at about 77ma  These are TAD winged C's and are supposedly matched. what else could be the proble...

Re: First HRM clip

Gil,
Are you saying that just removing the post OD tonestack and keeping all the other HRM values throughout the rest of the circuit makes it sound good with strats?

Re: output transformer question

OK

I think i'm starting to get the hang of this stuff.

Yes, I am wireing it up for 100 watts but I'll only be using two tubes.

Re: HRM Settings: Not Good :D

I had the same issue with my first build. I thought there was something wrong with it because it sounded so bad. (see my thread "help my hrm sounds harsh") Anyway, i sent it to Hiesthl (sp?) and he worked on it and sent it back. It sounded about the same, still harsh! So I went inside and started tw...

Re: Recipe for a moderate and FAT PAB circuit

I'm only modeling the tone stack, not the whole preamp. I just run the signal straight into the tonestack and take the frequency curve from the wiper of the treble pot.
