Re: Dumbleator II build.

The transformer or transformers are my biggest problem. For the first one I solved by buying a toroidal transformer from Tubetown for the first build (TT-T47) , too big for this application, but it worked. maybe Piemme elektra - IT? Hi Bepone, do you have experience/opinions on the quality o...

Re: Dumbleator II build.

Hi everyone, first of all "HAPPY EASTER" to you and to the entire TAG community. :D I am very interested in building another Dumblator, the first one I made gave a new dimension to the Dumble clones I had built and I consider it an indispensable "accessory" in the sound chain. Now I'm building a sec...

Re: TT dumbleator on Ceriatone OTS MINI

Hi wahmi, hi Erwin, I'm describing my experience with the creation of a Dumblator, I state that after hearing how much it positively influences the sound of amplifiers I regretted not having created it years ago. 1) intrigued by the articles on TAG of those who had already made a Dumblator, I...

Re: Hiwatt Hybrid Preamp

Hi Phil, I'm looking for the name of who imports Heyboer transformers for Hiwatt in Europe or Italy. I would like to build a 504 and will be using the power transformer from a Triwatt Trinity that I built over a decade ago. Unfortunately its output transformer has an impedance of 8K only suitable fo...

Re: SSS002 build log

The only hiss I saw was a little coming off my reverb return amp. Other than that quiet on all settings. I have mine crammed in an ODS chassis  Congrats! your pedals will never sound the same again  Tony Hi Talbany, I'm investigating the possibility (near future) of building a SSS #002 i...

Re: Hiwatt Hybrid Preamp

Sorry, I missed this thread Q - any good quality transformers with appropriate specs should work fine. The circuit and the stiff power supply are the elements most responsible for the Hiwatt sound, imo. Thanks Mhuss for the reply but what are the "appropriate specs" for these transformers or where ...

Re: 3rd Gen started

It lives!!!, I am still waiting on some early 70's piher 56Ks for the grids so that may add some more bottom end and balance the highs better... still can't complain in it's current form though. I still have the correct piher power string droppers on order but used some ABs for now. I didn't have a...

Re: 6V6 versus 6L6 schematics

Hi Martin, yes, I will first measure the amplifier voltages before adding the B+ reducer/screen voltage droppercome. The power transformer in the ampli IMG_6431.jpg should have been a TA M50 34, 340-0-340 of the Italian InMadOut which unfortunately left me after a few hours of operation. I'll never ...

Re: 6V6 versus 6L6 schematics

Hi Martin,

thank you very much. I will put your advice and support to good use.
I'll be home on March 15th and immediately start testing it on the 2nd Gen Hybrid with 4x 6V.

A hug, Franco

About the 50/100w switch , work fine?
ciao Sergio,

I made a 100/50 switch in a Dumble/Two Rock clone amp, I didn't like the result but by now I had implemented it and it remained. I only use the 100W position.

A hug

Re: 3rd Gen started

Hi ijedouglas, I built six months ago a 2nd gen. but in the Hybrid version posted here in TAG by Erwin_ve. The difference between the 2nd gen and 3rd gen are a few components. It's my favorite amp out of all the ones I've built. In comparison to the project I used 4x 6V6 with the output transformer ...

Re: 6V6 versus 6L6 schematics

If you get plate voltage around 420, and use the 1760L OT (4k2 primary) I think the screen voltage could be left as-is. If It's higher than that, the 14W JJ 6V6S is a good idea, and a screen voltage reduction might be the best bet. I believe what Andy F is suggesting is placing the "B+ Reducer" fro...

Re: Vibroverb

Hi fumbles, I did some research on Vibroverb and Vibrotrem because a friend of mine asked me to build one for him. I've already built three clone amps of Dumble projects for him. A couple of years ago he bought a recently produced Fender Vibroverb and asked a technician he knew to do some modificati...

Re: Vibroverb

Hi fumbles, each ear reacts differently to sounds, I learned the hard way not to trust the judgment of others, even if trained as technicians or players, I can advise you to see this site: https://fenderguru.com/?s=Vibroverb&submit=Search they make a reasoned analysis of all the production, the soun...
