Re: Fake PI
If you start throwing sand at the circuit, you'd be better off going to a IC based emulator with a tube SE power side, 5w pod.

Re: Fake PI
treat a PI as differential stage, but grab only one side of the output.
might try putting a 1m pot across the outputs of one you have up and running and see what you get as a summed out, swing it back and forth between the sides.
Look at a Ampeg see saw with the fixed resistors in the plate circuit

Re: minshall schematics
The Novachord PS is all regulated, you dont see that much. Minshalls claim to fame was that he came up with a frequency divider based 1/2 a 6sl7/12ax7 which drastically cut the cost of an electronic organ at the time, they got bought out by Estey still on the hunt for a schematic, there used to be a...

Re: minshall schematics
http://www.novachord.com/schematics.html thats one complex beastie, theres 12 base oscillators, that are grouped with a LFO for vibrato, their signal goes down a chain of freq dividers for each octave of the key board, I can see how any simplification or miniaturization would be very competitive, so...

I'm looking for a very rare thing. This guy started selling home built organs to undertakers in the early forties. and I guess sold out to Estey in the fifties, his rig was based on a simple tube frequency divider, I have one reference to the divider circuit, but no good schematic as to how it was i...

Re: Cathode Follower
the tube is a diode, picture a diode on top of a resistor, thats your follower with a regular gain stage the resistance makes a voltage drop between the diode and the B+, the larger the resistance the larger the current alteration and gain. Put the diode back on the other end ,as a follower you only...

Re: Simple diode clipping circuit
you can also use LED to bias a tube, theres a little lattice with 5 diodes thats used quite a bit and theres sonic differences between Germanium and Silicon diodes, endless tinkering

Re: Pickup winding
the hard part is making a tension-er of some sort, keep the work tidy with out breaking the fine gauge, you can do it by hand, but its nice to to have a rig that'll be more consistant
