Re: Where to find Trainwreck Logos?
I’d like a logo that looks similar to the original, but obviously different. Maybe something like RainWreck (removing the leading “T”), or TrainRek. Or, just a white plastic logo in the correct shape but no lettering. Kind of looks bare with no logo there....

Re: Rate the Express output transformers.
Chris Merren is very knowledgeable. I had an old Maestro EP1 Echoplex that wouldn’t output. After it going to a couple techs that were stumped, I shipped it off to Chris. Chris diagnosed it and rebuilt it in a week. Reasonably priced too. Highly recommended.

That board material looks like the same board material used in my original 1971 JMP50.

New source for Stancor A-3801 style Output Transformer
I was recently chatting with Chris Merren of Merren Audio ( www.merrenaudio.com ) and he told me he has plans to produce a Stancor A-3801 style OT before the end of the year. If you're not familiar with Chris and his work, he produces highly regarded replacement transformers for Marshall amplifiers....

Re: Marshall 4150 guts
I do not believe Marshall used different OT's so there should be a 16 Ohm wire hiding somewhere. Probably just not hooked up. I had a JCM900 that had a two way switch labelled 8 ohms and 4 ohms. There was a 16 ohm wire inside the chassis taped off. I unsoldered the 4 ohm wire from the switch, taped ...

Re: Variacs-VanHalen-Mojo
And to think, EVH was telling everyone back in the 80's he was turning up the Variac to 130V. Glad I never tried that!

Re: Speaker for a Princeton Reverb
I have three Princetons ('63 no reverb, '78 PR and a '79 PR). When not plugging into a 4x12, my favorite Princeton speaker is the Celestion Gold 10".

Re: Identifying a Marshall amp
NICE! Looks like an excellent score. Any guess as to the year of manufacture? 6550 output tubes? Thanks for sharing, Dave O. Serial number places it at 1980. Probably one of the last before the JCM800 cosmetics. Was originally shipped with 6550 however it's been converted to EL34. That's okay as I ...

Re: Dyno My Piano - Tri Stereo Chorus
I was billed a $250 deposit on March 20 and at that time requested a certain S/N. I was told that S/N had not been previously requested and I could have it. On April 1 I was billed the balance ($1,029.05), and asked which voltage version I required (100, 120, or 240 VAC). After paying the balance, I...
