Re: Bandmaster OT for use with 6V6?
I don't know squat about the codes, but three secondary wires would indicate a couple of different speaker loads, no?

Re: G-10/FR4 board material
Haha, like I said, I gotta pay more attention to the insides cuz my builds just aint that pretty. A fella contacted me a few days ago about making an amp to his specs in a toolbox. I tried to steer him towards a more traditional enclosure and I sent him some pics of the same amp I posted in this thr...

Re: Installing VVR on Lightning clone
Yes, take the the "B+ in" from the first cap. OT is taken from the "B+ out". I recently completed a Rocket with Dana's VVR and scaled the whole amp. It worked fine.
I wound up just mounting those extra two caps right on the sockets.

Re: G-10/FR4 board material
Lol, I have to put in a bit of effort on the inside cuz the outside of my amps generally look like rubbish.

Re: G-10/FR4 board material
Note that McMaster's "brownish-green" G-10/FR4 is identical in color except that it has a matte finish and is cheaper than the other colors. A 24" X 12" sheet costs $25.10.

Re: G-10/FR4 board material
To me, your board looks white in the pic. You referring to the light green color many use? My pic shows Mcmaster's "green" G-10/FR4. I believe this was cut from part #8557K142. I think this is what most consider "natural"???

Re: My X10 has begun
I would suggest you get the amp working first without the VVR. That way you are not trying to trouble shoot that part of it. Get the amp working properly then add the VVR back in. Sorry I haven't followed this build real close but I see you are using 10,000uF and 15,000uF caps? Can you tell me why ...

Re: Anyone ordered directly from Sozo?
I think I know. Name of the site = power units? Yeah. I know it's been discussed before and I'd rather not drag it up again cuz many folks have had good experiences with them and do they do offer great stuff. However, my orders with that vendor usually turn into a surreal exchange of phone calls, e...

[quote="M Fowler"]I hate ebay it's just a money making pit for them with listing and selling fees. Word. Ebay sent me an email this week stating that they'll soon be counting shipping costs as part of the total sale amount when they tally an auction's final value fee. I know they prolly did it to st...
