The dangerous and crazy thing is those trying to shove this crap down our throats think they're the most civilized creation that ever existed. Pure narcissistic delusion.

Re: Saw EJ last night

The PRS CAD amps are super nice amps. Actually, all the PRS amps are very nice. Doug Sewell is the man behind the designs. I got to talk & listen to Doug & Nicky Moroch at last years PRS open house. (Experience) They're very excited about what they're doing. I played through a couple different model...

Re: Wow....

That's just too crazy, Tom. I had no idea that TGP has gone "Gestapo" like that. It's been a long time since I have spent any time there. Like others, I just don't have the time or patience to read through 15 pages of posts to gleen one little bit of wisdom....Maybe??.... As far as George Harrison g...

Is that cap (second from the left) blistered and ready to spill electrolyte?
Looks like it to me. Hard to see for sure, but what else would it be?

Man, that's a sad bit of news. RIP.

Boy, lately I'm starting to feel a greater responisbility to keep this stuff alive. There seems to have been a lot of greats passing recently.

Re: Any Allan Holdsworth fans?

Also, I play a Carvin Holdsworth Fatboy through a Dumble clone, and it's like the best 335 I never played. Great guitar. Wow, I'll bet that sounds really, really good. Those Fatboys are really cool guitars. Birch top on yours or did you go with a figured wood? Are you going for a fusion tone? Inter...

Re: Tolex on tolex ok?

Yeah, it's going to be like any surfacing technique. Take painting, the actual applying of the paint is the easy part. Proper preparation is the most important and exhaustive part, but will result in a long lasting and great looking end product. And yes, I would be really concerned the glue wouldn't...

Re: Marshall Dumble? Mod..

Anyone have any detail on the Marshall Mod- I know Rob (Voodoosound) has spoken of it and i think had/has one. Not much detail if any on what it's all about..Anyone? Wondering if he was referring to a HRM build?... I would have to think so. I can't think of much more of a mod to get a Marshall soun...

Re: Any Allan Holdsworth fans?

Love him!! At one point in my life I listened to nothing but I.O.U, Sand, Metal Fatigue, and Secrets over and over. I really loved Secrets. For some reason I have seen many of my guitar heroes, but never got to see him live. And you're right. He always sounds like himself regardless of equipment. He...

Re: SANTANA on Leno

I'm just used to some real human gtr tone, not the prs homogenized sound. It is real difficult getting a personal tone out of one, jus sayin You certainly can have your opinion, but the whole PRS being a "homogenized sound is a cliche. You can get whatever tone you want out of one. Yes, certain PRS...

Re: SANTANA on Leno

But someone please tell him to get another guitar, the prs ain't him. Considering it's a "Signature Santana" PRS guitar built to his exact specifications makes it hard to grasp your logic. Carlos has left Hollywood and "pop culture" mess with his head. That and old age are not fairing well for one ...

Re: Loud clicking noise

This is probably a long shot, but I thought I would throw it out there. The one photo looking at the HRM board from the front of the amp, the right side stand-off looks like it is very close to the trimmer lead eyelet. Could there be some arcing happening? I don't think there's much voltage there, b...

Re: Loud clicking noise

if it is, would the loop of the "good" amp being parallel have anything to do with the odd behaviour?(not the ticking/farting) That's the only question that comes to mind very quickly.

I guess more likely the "problem amp's" loop being wired wrong makes more sense.
